Happy Holidays 2025

Happy Holidays! Joyful Solstice! Merry Christmas! Happy Hannukah! Best Wishes! Joyeux Noël! Vrolijk Kerstmis!  Feliz Navidad! Kung His Hsin Nien bing Chu Shen Tan! Glædelig Jul! Gajan Kristnaskon! Hyvaa Joulua! Buorrit Juovllat! Gledileg Jol! Nodlaig Mhaith Chugnat! Buone Feste Natalizie! Gleðilega hátíð! Natale Hilare et Annum Faustum! Pozdrevlyayu s Prazdnikom Rozhdestva is Novim Godom! God Jul and (Och) Ett Gott Nytt! Season's Greetings! Peace!

I hope this greeting finds you well. It does us. 2025 has been a year full of fun and family and friends. Once again our family gathered in Denver to celebrate the start of the year with what will hopefully become our annual tradition of the Christmas tour of the Botanic Gardens and holiday celebrations.

Peter's talents as a mixmaster were much appreciated as we toasted in 2025.

Another big highlight for us was celebrating Madeline's birthday with a trip to New York City. She loves theater (as do Kate and I) and all three of us love the vibrance of New York City. Madeline was in charge of play and restaurant selection. Her skill in both is unsurpassed.

A wonderful experience with a wonderful daughter.

A sad note this year was the sudden passing of Stan's younger brother Bruce.

Stan and his sister Linda have been introduced to the experience of being co-executors of his estate. Sadly our expertise in estate law, baseball memorabilia, cats and pickup trucks has increased.

Kate and I have been retired for over a decade now. We still play well together and are also good at "parallel play". Our tradition on a "normal" weekday over the years has been to gather at 6 p.m. and watch the PBS NewsHour together. That tradition is more challenging with the content of the news in the last year or so. But we try our best to be nice to those we meet and "not let the turkeys get us down."

Friends, family and particularly grandchildren help with that.

So does time at what Elliott refers to as "the little house" - which seems a bit more removed from current events.

My pal Harry and I made another November trip to London this year to watch Arsenal, this time accompanied by Harry's son Alex.  We saw a great Arsenal match. And since it was moved from Saturday to Sunday we got in a bonus match at "Craven Cottage" with great seats. What a treat!

Happy Holidays from our house to yours. Here's to a peaceful and joyful 2026!

Love, Stan and Kate
